“Value of Volunteering” by Debbie Busby, Executive Director of Massillon Development Foundation
Value of Volunteering:
- Gaining Business Experience through Volunteering
- Reasons to volunteer
- Skills gained through volunteering
I have been President of the Massillon WestStark Chamber of Commerce since August 2020. My career in chamber leadership includes previous roles as the Director of Membership Development and Retention for the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and Sales Executive for the Jackson-Belden Chamber of Commerce. These positions allowed me to enhance member services, drive organizational growth, and advance local business growth and community engagement.
Alongside my professional pursuits, I own, operate, and manage 45 residential and commercial units across Stark County, reflecting my commitment to contributing to the local economy and providing quality housing and commercial spaces.
My dedication to community service I hope is evident through my volunteer work. I serve on the board of several organizations, including Aultman Orville Hospital, the Friends of the Massillon Public Library, and the Tri-County Restaurant Association. I am also actively involved with the Perry Rotary and the Mercy Service League, and have been a long-time volunteer for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival, Massillon Museum, as well as various local schools and churches.
