Dave Payne - Professional Bio


Dave Payne, M.S., is a pioneering force at the intersection of artificial intelligence and
modern sales strategy. After a career in sales, sales management, and sales training in
the medical, pharma, and biotech markets, he moved to university higher education to
advance the teaching of future sales professionals.


He is the co-author of the groundbreaking book, Modern Sales Strategies in the Age of
Artificial Intelligence (June 2025), the first definitive guide for sales professionals on
leveraging AI for tangible business growth. Over the past few months, Dave has
relaunched his training consulting company to turbocharge sales impact, improve
efficiency, and make sales fun again.


As a former Full Professor of sales at the University of Akron’s College of Business for
the past twelve years and the 2024 "Teacher of the Year," he has established himself as
a visionary in applying immersive technologies to professional development. Dave
bridges the gap between traditional sales mastery and the digital future with AI. After
nearly $1.5M in fundraising, design, and construction of the largest university sales
training facility in the world in Akron, Ohio, this proven leader has secured 100% job
placement for his students for over 10 consecutive years.


Through his firm, System 3 Performance Consulting, and his academic leadership, he
has just launched the first company in Ohio that teaches live Artificial Intelligence
workshops specifically for Sales and Business Professionals. Dave’s expertise goes
